John Gabaldon

Marketing and Media Specialist TAG Public Relations

A specialist in marketing and media relations at TAG Public Relations, John Gabaldon counsels clients on issues ranging from marketing, promotions, new technology, product launches, co-branding opportunities, and special events.

Gabaldon, who previously was with Hill and Knowlton International Public Relations, brings a wealth of experience in the industries of entertainment, marketing and advertising. He recently worked with Motorola in finding branding partners for their mobile phones.Gabaldon has also counseled companies including Levi, Bloomingdales, Banana Republic, MAGIC (Mens Apparel Guild In California), as well as Hilton Hotels and China Trade Mission.

At Hill and Knowlton, Gabaldon worked in the Marketing Communications group, specializing in media relations and creating company tie-ins for various events and promotions. Some of his clients included: Frito-Lay, Huntís, Coppertone, Gemstar, and the Milk Processor Board. Gabaldon launched the new product, Baked Layís, at the 1996 Tournament of Roses with Supermodels Vendela, Naomi Campbell, and Kathy Ireland. He helped develop and implement web sites for the Mirage Hotel and the California Avocado Commission.

Gabaldon worked at Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment in the Marketing Services Department of FoxVideo. He coordinated public relations activities, handled media requests and worked on the development of rebates and promotional tie-ins for Shirley Temple titles and for the Star Wars Trilogy pack. Gabaldon has provided counsel to various agencies including Rogers and Cowan and GCI. Gabaldon launched the new fragrance, Giorgio Light in the U.S.A. with spokesperson, Tiffani-Amber Thiessen in five cities. He also handled media relations for the Giorgio Beverly Hills boutique.

Gabaldon was the Chief Executive Officer of Baja Clothing. He played a major role in new business development and international marketing. He also executed public relations and marketing plans for the young menís and childrenís clothing lines, and was responsible for international expansion to the Pacific Rim and Europe.

Gabaldon is on the membership committee of Public Relations Society of America and a member of the Entertainment Publicists Professional Society. Gabaldon received his B.A. in International Business and Marketing from Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia. He was the recipient of the Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship. He also took part in exchange programs at Brunel University in England and at Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico in Mexico City.
